So it's been three weeks since I blew up my knee. Yesterday, they brought out crutches in PT and I felt like I hit the jackpot. Not sure what it is about those things that represents some kinda freedom but, when you've been in a wheelchair and a walker for awhile, it's a breath of fresh air. You won't see me cruising the aisles of Fleet Farm anytime soon but...
I know I shared what my knee looked like 'then' in the previous post but I've had a bunch of people ask what it looks like now. I'm not sure how many pieces my knee got blown into, but there were a BUNCH. Enough to take three surgeries to put it back together. One to stabilize things and two to rebuild. The result should leave the TSA folks and any other metal detectors wondering just what I'm made of...
I think the new mantra in life is gonna become "Slow down, live longer"
