Over on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's website, they have a very good bio on Aretha Franklin. Give it a read if you have a moment. It talks a lot about her path and when you stop and think about it, without people like her, we wouldn't have Tina Turner or Ann & Nancy Wilson. We wouldn't have Pat Benetar or Tracy Chapman. It was very much MORE a good-ole-boys club when she was starting out and she helped to knock down a lot of walls AND ceilings. We need to appreciate the efforts of the legends and the 'can become legends' while they're with us.
