Alice in Chains abruptly cancelled their tour opener in Uncasville, Connecticut on Thursday night (May 8) after drummer Sean Kinney suffered a "medical emergency."

The band shared the news on social media, writing: “After our soundcheck this evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Sean experienced a non-life-threatening medical emergency. We unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.”

As fans pointed out in the comments, the announcement was made as concert goers were arriving at the venue. "Drove 2 1/2 hrs to bring my son, only to be told at 7;30 as I was pulling in , it was cancelled. Not real happy!" one fan wrote on X. "Hope Sean is ok, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth for AIC"
