In 1976 The Rolling Stones went #1 with their 6th album “Black and Blue”!
Last year the band celebrated the anniversary of the album with a Super Deluxe Box Set that was remixed and expanded as a 5-LP vinyl box set and a 4-CD box set, including a Blu-ray disc, a hundred-page hardback book, and a replica tour poster.
Black and Blue was the first album without Mick Taylor, as he quit in 1974, so Keith Richards recorded the bulk of the album, but some of it did feature their new guitarist, Ron Wood who took over the position, which he still holds to this day.
Black and Blue blended the Stones rock style with a mix of reggae and funk. “Fool To Cry” was the only hit single, as the initial reception to the album was mixed, but through the years it’s gained a bit of a cult following making a Deluxe almost new found territory for the Stones.
A limited edition 5-LP version will also be available, alongside 2-disc and 1-disc formats on both vinyl and CD.
