Walker signs budget bill, boasts pro-job and pro-business plans

Posted June 27th, 2011 @ 1:23pm

Governor Scott Walker says Wisconsin now has the most "aggressive pro-jobs, pro-business plan in the country."

The Republican Walker says most of the credit goes to the new state budget he signed yesterday, as well as the bills he sponsored in the special economic session early in the year.

Walker told Milwaukee radio talk show host Charlie Sykes on WTMJ that his entire administration will be aggressive in promoting job growth and more business.

Walker said he would keep looking for ways to avoid using state rules as a "constant barrier" to business.

About 25,000 new jobs were created in Wisconsin in the first five months after Walker became the governor. That puts him about on track with his campaign promise to create a quarter-million Wisconsin jobs by the end of 2014.

Job growth slowed down in April and May. Walker blames that on problems with the national economy.
